Principal's Message
Aloha Princess Nāhiʻenaʻena Elementary School Families,
As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, I am privileged to continue our shared mission of fostering educational excellence for our students. In light of our ongoing mission, we will retain our established theme for this academic year: “United in Purpose / Pūpūkahi i Holomua”. This theme reflects the solidarity and commitment required to move our school forward.
Our school spirit reflects our greater school community and it is beautifully defined by our core values. Through Holu (resilience), we have demonstrated the flexibility and strength to adapt and grow. Our shared Lōkahi (unity) and Aloha continue to bind us together as a faculty, while our collective Kuleana (responsibility) drives our ongoing commitment to the well-being and academic success of our students.
To maintain our momentum and ensure sustainable growth, we remain committed to the philosophy of "going slow to go fast." By pacing our initiatives intentionally, we can effectively strengthen our professional relationships and refine our instructional practices. This year, our strategic focus will center on the following core objectives:
Enhancing Tier 1 Instructional Practices: We will continue to strengthen core instruction and greater discourse within both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics to ensure equitable access to high-quality learning.
Improving Mathematics Achievement: We will implement evidence-based fluency practices designed to measurably boost student proficiency and confidence in math.
Supporting Student Well-Being: We will continue our implementation of the Wayfinder curriculum to foster the social-emotional growth and resilience of our students.
I firmly believe that with our exceptional staff working collaboratively toward these common goals, all of our students can achieve academic success. Let us begin this school year with a unified vision and positive intentions, remaining steadfast in our support for our students, our colleagues, and the greater Lahaina community.
