The Maui Wildfire Exposure Study (MauiWES) is a comprehensive study designed to understand and mitigate the health and social impacts of the August 2023 Maui fires. By joining this study, participants not only gain insight into their own personal exposure risks but also contribute essential data that supports community resilience throughout the recovery phase. MauiWES study participants receive a comprehensive health screening and test results after we collect biomedical data (blood from adults, urine, saliva, lung test, blood pressure, as they relate to fire exposure) as well as survey data that asks about additional impacts such as financial, geographical, mental/emotional, etc. All study participants receive $100 cash as a thank you for participating. You can learn more about the study here: www.mauiwes.org. To view the flyer, click here.
